#8 Keep it Simple
Too many people use too many products on their skin. Using too many different things can irritate your skin and adding more lotions and potions to fix the irritation will just make it worse. Don’t use creams and lotions with perfume in it either, all they will do is dry out your skin and it will make all the time you’ve spent moisturizing a waste of time. Try using all the same brands, although our skin is clever enough to heal itself but I get confused with all the different chemicals we plaster it with on a daily bases. Try sticking to one product and when that one runs out don’t change just stick with it.
#7 Repeat it
Keep it up! If you want your skin too look good then you need to do the same routine daily not just every so often. Take care of it every single day every so often won’t make any difference. Wash and moisturize every morning and every night. It doesn’t take too long and it will make all the difference. The more you do it, the better your skin will be and not only will your skin feel better but you will too!
#6 Be Gentle
Scrubbing and drying our skin too much will just leave your skin looking all rough and red and that isn’t too pretty is it? It’s important to clean our skin properly but it doesn’t need to be done with sand paper. Most face wash has things in them to remove dead skin so we do not have to scrub until its red raw. Our skin can dry on its own so no need to rub so hard with the towel patting and dabbing will do, it can air dry too.
#5 Bed Time Routines
When we’re getting tired and climb into bed we can sometimes forget that we have a face full of make-up and we fall fast asleep with it all on. This is no good! With all that on your face your skin can't breathe. It’s bad enough its covered all day, it needs time to have some fresh air or the spots will start to appear. So make sure the make-up comes off and maybe use some cleanser just to get rid of every little bit of dirt and oil to let your face get the air it deserves.
#4 Make-Up
Some people put far too much make up on and their skin cannot cope with it. We don’t need 4 layers of foundation to get through the day, and the days we’re not going to leave the house we don’t need any. Fragrance free make-up is always better as it won’t dry out your skin. Many people prefer the ‘au naturale’ look so no need to feel ashamed walking out of the door with no make-up on, it will not be the end of the world. Even just a bit of mascara instead of all the foundation is MUCH kinder to our skin.
#3 Stop Messing
Our hands aren’t the cleanest things. They may look it but there can be a lot of germs on them. Messing with our face can just make things worse, could cause spots or make existing ones worse. Your hands touch everything you see during the day; tables, chairs, door handles and pens. It’s not the best of ideas rubbing your face with dirty hands, to keep our skin clear we should avoid any unnecessary contact.
#2 Sun
We all love that bronzed look especially after the lack of sun over the winter but don’t over indulge! We need to look after our skin even more in the sun than we do the rest of the year. The sun can be harmful to our skin so we need to put extra measures in place. Use high factors and tan slowly no one wants sunburn. Be careful in the sun and take care of your skin.
#1 Sleep
Believe it or not the amount of sleep we get can impact the condition of our skin. All those late nights are no good for our skin. It’s recommended that we get at least 8 hours a night. Its not always possible to get that much sleep but we should make sure we get a good sleep, it keeps our skin clear and makes you a happier person for the day ahead.
